good news and a heart fed to the wind

i received word today that my poem Of An Otherwise Stark, Rural Highway will appear in Naked Knuckle #7. I had some poems in earlier issues, but have been goose-egged since. I'm happy to crack it again. I'll update when it appears.

Also in the mail today was a copy of Michael Kriesel's new chapbook Feeding My Heart to the Wind -- Selected Short Poems 1999-2005, published by sunnyoutside. Kriesel is one of the best out there with dictating a specific mood in 12 words or less. masterful.
i look forward to devouring it.

congrats on the KNUCKLE. I too have had a long streak of no-go with the very astute Edwards. he is a big supporter. anyone have his email? he would be a great one to fill in.

I need to send him something poem wise anyway....

Good one, J. I have never cracked Naked Knuckle. I guess it's time to try again; it's been a while.

Kriesel writes well about nature. I got that book, too, and read it last night. Very good.

Yes, both Chris and Glenn (and even you Kat) need to send Greg something. his mag is awesome and stocked full of great poems.

Kriesel is amazing. like you said, great with the nature poem. i read the book last night, too. good one. highly recommended.

I've had a couple in there, but ever since have been shut out by my own incompetence.

I sent him an email...

jb you using the word verify because of comment spam also?

congratulations j.b. I've submitted once, maybe twice to Naked Knuckle, and the one copy I have, I liked a great deal.

it's a pretty damn good magazine, for sure. proud as hell to get back into it. they've quickly become a favorite.

yeah, using the verifier because of comment spam...so annoying. though, the verifier is only slightly less annoying.

Yes. With my poor eye sight.
I've sent comments that didn't go.
I didn't type the words the verifier asked me to type I guess.
And I lost my comment. So I just said Fuck it, and didn't resend.

i've done that, too, Luis.

and the words they choose are weird.

i'm pretty certain the word i have to type in right now: jgivmo is actually not a word.

but, that being said, i still think i saw that word in a poem in POETRY magazine once.

yeah i saw that word too.
the poet was trying very
hard to impress upon the
reader how many uncommon
words he knew. He wrote
and rewrote, revised and
revised, and then finally
kicked the scrabble pieces
on the rug and out came
jgivmo. I think that was
one of Michael Jackson's
chants in that song, The
Man In The Middle.

bedosdwc!
