more good news

i received an email the other day from The Other Voices International Project stating that they plan to put out an anthology of the work published on their journal over the years, and my poem After Heidi committed suicide and a few weeks passed, letting it sink in; and after the wife and I sat at home for 5 straight nights, barely talking to each other; and after sharing a bottle of wine, finally letting the emotion wash over us like soap bubbles, she said, was selected for inclusion. very exciting. i had 8 poems published in Vol. 8 back in 2004. it's nice to know that of all of the times an editor has said he held anthology rights it finally paid off once.

That's wonderful news, Justin. Well done!

I've never made it into an anthology, unless you count the Taj Mahal Review, which they make you pay for, and which I refuse to pay for ...

casey-
yeah, that's the title. and no i'm no Hosho... :)

it just seemed to fit. actually, to be honest, i couldn't come up with a title so i used the first stanza as a title. so there!

thanks Glenn. it was an nice unexpected email. i've been in a few anthologies. you should submit to more. there are quite a few good ones every year and your work would find one or two i'm sure.

That's quite a title. Sounds like a good one! You've had lots of good news lately! Which is not surprising to me! :)

pompous? moi? :)

did you guys even go read the poem? it'll burn your fucking britches! :)

literally <-- don't you love it when people use the word "literally" wrong?

and, Chris, i'm the manner of McCreesh that we all wish we could be. at least i was for that poem. or, at least i think i was. now, just what manner of j.b do ya'll think you are?! :)

actually, in all reality, i couldn't title it. i just had a brain fart and couldn't come up with a good one. so, i started using words from the first stanza, and didn't know where to stop, so i used it all....

fuck it.

ya'll just jealous. ;)
