world cup of poetry

the fabulous poet, and soccer fan, Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal has posted an amazing opus to both soccer and poetry at Upright Against The Savage Heavens, on this the first day of World Cup 2006. check it out, and learn some new things about both soccer and poetry from around the world.

in a few days (Sunday) i will be posting the second installment to Background Noise on the same blog. Look for it.

good choice of words: "opus." it truly is a monster post. I haven't made it half way thru the links yet, and have found several links broken, which I've now fixed, I think. it is quite a research job and he had a fucking ball doing it.

I await the next Background Noise with anticipation.

it really IS a monster post. i'm sure it was a blast to create. helluva lot of research and he pull it off superbly.

as for BN, i hope it's good. i've got a good idea in my noggin, but we all know that once they get on paper some ideas are better than others.

thanks JB & Chris...

I thought I was going to get
some comments on the World Cup,
but Women's NCAA Softball
is on, and taking American
Viewers by storm.

I hear it had bigger ratings
than the Stanley Cup.
