both right and wrong

i agree with this, but with one minor change:
don't just copy what you like. improve upon it. make it your own. make it something new.

don't just read the myths of those who came before us; rewrite them altogether.

thanks chris.

i was thinking, too. it's so true how people go see a work of art, or read a book or listen to certain pieces of music ONLY because they feel they should. and like the author said, they think to themselves the whole time that they are reading this particular book or watching this movie.

all the while NOT enjoying it.

if you have to remind yourself of what you are reading while reading it (likewise for music and art) and if you feel proud for pushing your bookmark through a book...then, you are not reading for pleasure, or to gain information.

nor are you getting anything out of it.

in the same vein, if you are writing a poem and throughout the creating of it you are saying to yourself: "look at me, i'm writing a poem" then you are, in fact, NOT writing a poem. it's that simple.

as for MANN COULTER. she's a liar, a plagiarist and an all-around despicable person. she's not even smart enough to plagiarize the truth. now THAT'S dumb!

also, don't plagiarize, folks. emulation is fine, but eventually (if you are talented) you'll have to branch out on your own. you'll have to invent a new style. you'll have to reinvent anew the alphabet. it's mandatory.
